Milking with a robot, grazing like a Viking – time for Swedish inspiration!

Study Trip Sweden

In mid-June 2025, we will travel to Sweden for a study trip. Sweden has its own approach, where grazing and advanced technology go hand in hand. Challenges in Sweden include a shorter growing season and strict regulations (grazing is mandatory).

A study trip to Sweden is not just an excursion – it is an opportunity to look at the future of grazing and robotic milking with a fresh perspective.

By exchanging knowledge with progressive farmers in a challenging climate, we expect valuable insights, because in Sweden:

  • farmers work with structured grazing schedules where cows are guided through smart routing and selection gates.
  • there is extensive use of 'forced' grazing and time-controlled access, allowing cows to automatically spend a certain number of hours in the pasture.
  • Swedish dairy farmers have a strong focus on animal welfare, which aligns well with the Dutch ambition to combine grazing and technology in an animal-friendly way.
  • How does the Swedish approach compare to the Dutch grazing premium and registration of grazing hours, and which elements can be translated to our situation?
  • In Sweden, there are dairy farms that are comparable in scale and setup to Dutch farms, making the knowledge directly applicable.
  • Contact with Swedish farmers can lead to a sustainable network where experiences and solutions are shared even after the trip.

Will you join the study trip to Sweden?

We offer four dairy farmers the unique opportunity to travel with us to Sweden. Meet innovative dairy farmers who combine grazing and automatic milking. Discover smart grazing systems, advanced technology, and a Scandinavian perspective on efficient dairy management.

Two tickets are available for you as a dairy farmer who already combines robots and grazing and wants to gain inspiration. The other two tickets are for you as a dairy farmer if you want to start combining robots and grazing!

This is your chance to look at your own business with a fresh perspective and gain new ideas!

Information on the study trip to Sweden
